Takoma Basketball Camp provides a full-day of basketball for boys and girls ages 7 to 14. There’s lots of practice, lots of playing time and lots of fun so kids have a great time and raise their skills considerably.
Daily schedule
Mornings include warm-ups, skills stations and games and contests. After lunch and videos, afternoon games are part of a week-long tournament. Every player competes in each event of Friday’s Olympic as well as Tournament playoff games. Throughout the day players rotate through games and skills stations in Takoma Park Middle School’s air-conditioned gyms and outdoor courts. There are plenty of rest and water breaks, though many players never want to quit!
Takoma SportsCamps provides a full-day of summer fun and skills instruction to boys and girls. The Camps grew out of the success of Takoma Park Babe Ruth Baseball Camp, a local favorite since its inception in 1997. From the beginning Takoma Baseball Camp thrived but only a few intrepid girls attended the camp so directors Sue Immerman and Louis Hoelman started up Takoma Softball Camp for girls who wanted to play and learn more softball. Takoma Basketball Camp was launched in response to the requests of parents who asked for more summer sports programming in the close-in Takoma Park/Silver Spring area.
